Neighborhood Gifted and Talented Program
F. M. Black's Neighborhood Gifted and Talented Program serves students identified as potentially gifted or talented in intellectual ability, creativity, or leadership. These students typically study interdisciplinary units emphasizing higher-level thinking, problem solving, and creativity. Our G/T Program also provides a differentiated curriculum to students by modifying the depth, complexity, and pacing of the regular academic curriculum.
Students must qualify for placement in the Gifted and Talented program through a process of referral and testing. Applications for G/T testing are accepted both early fall and late winter of each academic school year.
For further information, or to obtain an application, please contact the G/T Coordinator, at (713) 613-2505.
Pre-Advanced Placement Program
The Pre-AP program is for identified gifted an talented students as well as for high-achieving students who qualify for this program as per HISD guidelines. This program follows an enriched curriculum.
