First opening its doors in 1957, F. M. Black Middle School was built to provide a quality education for students in the surrounding community. Named for Frank Murphy Black, a distinguished HISD administrator, the new school set out to promote high standards of academic achievement. Many fine upstanding Houstonians have attended F. M.
